DUTIES: Analyze and evaluate existing and proposed enhancements, modifications, and corrections to existing EMC products. Drive new EMC product and solution configuration functionality, to ensure a foundation and platform for development of future configuration of EMC products and solutions that is scalable from both a functionality and performance perspective with a modern and intuitive UI. Analyze presale tool needs by configuring aspects across all EMC products and determine solutions to optimize the configuration and quoting process. Develop EMC presale tool configuration data interchange file standards for EMC products with EMC configuration tools. Lead the creation of configuration user interface guidelines and standards across all EMC products to optimize usability and performance of the configuration experience. Perform design, development, testing, analysis, and documentation of analytical experiments that model the anticipated performance of EMC products and enhancements. May be assigned to various, unanticipated sites throughout the United States.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree in Comp. Sci., Engin,(any), Business, Math, Physics, or related technical field. 60 months experience in job offered or computer-related occupation. Experience must include 60 months of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience. Experience must include: 1) scale-up and scale-out storage and storage tiering technologies in Symmetrix and Clariion/VNX; 2) EMC Direct Express quoting and configuration tool; 3) EMC STP Navigator; 4) EMC SymmMerge; 5) EMC Power Calculator; 6) EMC SYR; 7) SRDF, SRDF/STAR and Timefinder; 8) RecoverPoint; 9) flash/solid state storage; 10) Presales experience with enterprise storage and IBM mainframe products; and 11) Customer facing experience with enterprise storage administration/architecture. Any suitable combination of education, training or experience is acceptable.
EOEEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
