This position reports to the Director, Surgical Sales Training and will develop, implement, and oversee the Sales Training curriculum and strategy, as it fits in line with the individual surgical business needs. This individual will work closely with the marketing team, clinical staff and Associate Training Managers to manage and deliver sales training events. This individual will provide leadership to and manage the job responsibilities of the Associate Training Manager as it relates to their specific surgical businesses. . EOE M/F/D/V
Manage all activities and responsibilities for the development, execution and on-going maintenance of the Surgical Endoscopy surgical business.
Leads and executes needs assessment for training and development.
Manage the activities of the training organization to support the assessment, design and delivery of programs, curricula and overall development initiatives.
Collaborate with marketing SMEs and CNEs to review programs of teaching and learning to assess potential for eLearning and/or enhanced ILT.
Work with Instructional Designer, SMEs, CNEs and FSTs in the continued development of maximizing eLearning (HSP program) and LMS content management.
Collaborate on the development of education and training materials (presentations, electronic media, hands-on booklets, etc).
Facilitate the internal copy review process (LCR) to ensure materials are prepared and approved for final use.
Partner with Director to monitor monthly training accruals by surgical business/track expenses.
Constantly assess and identify current and future training needs for the field based on product knowledge, selling skills, business acumen, etc.
Develop and implement evaluation methods to create metrics of program effectiveness and impact as measured against key business objectives.
Benchmark and create best practices and maintain industry information, including new thinking and new approaches.
Coordinate and facilitate CPT, NHO and In-house Product Training Programs, product launches and additional MSG Surgical Business training activities (NSM).
Assist with Planning
Communications with Faculty, Trainees, Hotels, Facilities, etc.
Creation of agenda, curricula and training materials for all surgical product training classes
Work with SMEs, CNEs and FSTs to coordinate classroom training, assessments and workshops.
Assist to create and/or review materials for product launches to assure sales materials are properly represented and aligned with methodologies and techniques.
Work closely with Associate Training manager on all training logistics.
Ownership and facilitation of In-house Product Training
Define performance objectives and measure effectiveness of training programs
Manage the room and timing of all sessions
Make necessary changes (if applicable) on the fly
Manage and update tests, essays and hands-on activities (if applicable)
Help manage and track all necessary product inventory for training classes.
Assist with Implementation and Follow-up
Travel to Designated Programs to act as Liaison if necessary
Provide Training assistance at Designated Programs if necessary
Assist with Post-Meeting Communications
Assist in Final Feedback for in-house training classes.
Support Field Sales Training program for appropriate surgical businesses.
Work with Associate Training Manager to set-up Field Training schedule with new hire, Field Trainer and RVP.
Track and analyze FST program via phone follow-up, Trainer Progress Reports, and FST checklists.
Provide summary of progress with recommendations and communicate with appropriate reports (RVP and/or TM).
Work with Director Training, CNEs, SMEs and Instructional Designer to create a FST Guide for field based training as well as a checklist of key competencies and sales processes.
Build and manage of team of core surgical specialists such as the Associate Training Manager, marketing product managers, CNEs, and select FSTs and RVPs to build and enhance all training programs. Identify, recommend, and where
appropriate, implement new, creative, innovative learning & development offerings, techniques and tools to build a best in class sales training program for Olympus.
All Other Essential Duties as directed.

Bachelor's degree in Business, Biological Sciences, Marketing or related field.
Minimum 2 years of sales experience
Minimum 3 yearof medical device or pharmaceutical industry experience in a training function.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment across multiple business units
Excellent planning and strategy development while executing against tight timelines
High emotional intelligence in managing multiple business initiatives and cross-functional relationships
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Excellent analytical and problem resolution skills and business acumen

Travel 10-15% : overnight attendance at training, meetings, and tradeshows
